Hi, i’m really interested in learning to play the drums. i’ve got no experience with any other instruments. i haven’t booked for classes (i also don’t want to rely on classes, i want to be able to practice at home too). i’ve asked many music shops about things i would need to get started, most of the time i feel like they’re just looking for a sale. i was hoping for some fundamental advice.

Yeah a lot of them are but if you go to the family owned stores they usually help you out a little more. And what type of music are you looking to play?
